Single Temperature Wine Cooler or Dual Temperature Wine Cooler
One of the 1st questions we ask when anyone makes an inquiry for a wine cooler is;
“What do you want a wine cooler for?”
This often surprises people as they think it is pretty obvious they want a cabinet to keep their wine in.
The key point there though is keep
Do they just want to keep wine in it, do they want to keep red wine at a ready to serve temperature, do they want to keep white wine at a ready to serve temperature or do they want to store wine in it?
The answer to the question can quite often be the deciding point as to which is the most suitable; A Single Temperature Wine Cooler or Dual Temperature Wine Cooler.
If wine storage is the priority a single temperature wine cabinet is often the best option, you may say, but I want to store both red and white wine so think a dual temperature cabinet makes more sense.
What you have to realise though is although you may serve white wine at a different temperature to white, when it comes to wine storage both red and white wines should ideally be stored at approx 12 degrees and the only time you keep whites cooler than this is prior to serving.
If wine storage is your priority, be it red wine or white wine, a single temperature wine cabinet is often your best option.
When would I require a dual temperature wine cooler
Dual temperature wine cabinets tend to have a larger compartment at the bottom where the temperature can be set at the ideal wine storage condition and a smaller top compartment which can be set slightly cooler so you can keep your white wines at a ready to serve temperature.
If you are purchasing a wine cabinet primarily for show or in a household/restaurant/hotel etc. that consumes a lot of white wine and requires this to be at a ready to serve temperature then a dual cabinet wine cooler may be for you.
