LIRANS Scientific Services

LIRANS Institute of Research in the Applied Natural Services is an established centre of advanced research at the University of Bedfordshire. The institute contain specialist training and research facilities for staff and research students and provide consultancy and contract research services to industrial and other customers in the UK. LIRANS Scientific Services provides company personnel with access to advanced equipment, facilities and expertises for their own research. This can provide companies with a means to explore ideas and carry out demonstration of concept studies that might otherwise be prohibitively expensive. The laboratories are particularly well equipped with a range of specialist microscopes and imaging techniques (confocal microscope, 3D scanning, cryomicroscope and stereomicroscopes) with additional instrumentation covering molecular biology (real-time PCR and gel electrophoresis), sensor fabrication (screen printing, production of planar structures, lamination and plotter cutting) and analysis (electroanalysis and UPLC). In addition to utilizing state-of-the-art LIRANS equipment and laboratory facilities, companies can access expert assistance from highly-proficient members of staff. LIRANS specialists are able to provide support in different areas of company research requirements or analytical service needs, from experimental design through to data processing and analysis.
