The Ten Mile Timber Company English Timber mostly grown, and used, within ten miles of home Based at our sawmill on the Coleorton side of the estate, this is the sawn timber and firewood side of our business. Ours is the only sawmill currently operating within the National Forest and we specialise in cutting timber to order, mainly oak and larch. The Ten Mile Timber Company is linked to STAUNTON HAROLD FARMS and is VAT registered. Services Available from the Sawmill Bespoke Timber Supplied Oak beams and rafters, timber framed barns and garden features, these are the bread and butter of our sawmill.Enquiries to the Estate Office (preferably in imperial measure!) are priced up promptly and orders can usually be fulfilled inside a couple of weeks. Planked Timber Supplied Suitable for furniture makers and house builders, our planked timber is sourced from the Estate or close by. We sell the full board, air dried and dated. Currently we hold stocks of oak, ash, sycamore, beech, cedar and douglas fir. Sample boards will shortly be available to view in the ''Gardeners Bothy'' at the top of the walled avenue above the Ferrers Centre. Cutting Service for Customers We frequently cut customers own clean timber to their requirements. Prices are £25 per hour for cleaning and preparation and £50 per hour sawmilling. Firewood This is a new departure for the mill. Hardwood logs will shortly be available by the measured cubic metre, both air dried and fresh cut. We will be offering a professional and reliable service to new customers and to previous customers of Staunton Logs. The Staunton Harold Estate is itself a big user of logs and we have our own HETAS qualified staff member who is available to install woodburning stoves and advise on their operation.
