On your first visit you receive a free 15 minute initial consultation, where we can discuss your needs so that I can give you the best possible and safe massage, tailored for your mind and body. I provide deep tissue massage, for example, to help relieve neck and shoulder tension, lower back pain, sciatica, neck pain, lymphatic drainage, as well as more superficial tissue massage for women who are stresses, anxious or just in need of some important me time. I also believe that massage is beneficial in supporting women through their hormonal changes in life and I also provide massage tailored to pregnancy. (Hons) Health Sciences: Complementary Therapies (2:1) from Westminster University (1999-2002), and Certificates in Therapeutic Massage (APNT 1994), Sports Massage (FSMT 1996) and a diploma in Aromatherapy (Dip. ISA 1996). Matthew is a member of IPTI.
Matthew has undertaken numerous further training courses in, amongst others: deep tissue massage, hands-free massage, spiritual anatomy, massage for pregnancy and integrative bodywork.
While at the University of Westminster, Matthew studied under Leon Chaitow, completing modules in Palpation Skills, Neuromuscular Techniques, Muscle Energy Techniques, and Positional Release Techniques, as well as Craniosacral Therapy, and advanced Anatomy and Physiology. Matthew is a self-employed professional therapist. He has run practices in both London and Bristol.
Matthew worked for over 7 years at The Bristol Cancer Help Centre, and later at Penny Brohn Cancer Care, providing massage, aromatherapy, bodywork and emotional support for people living with cancer, and their supporters. Matthew continues to provide holistic treatment for people living with cancer in his private practice in Bishopston. He also worked at Napiers Clinic and The Relaxation Centre in Bristol.
