Bill & Helen Baber first opened their studio workshop in 1976 and have been going strong ever since. They are currently celebrating their 25th anniversary in the shop at number 66 Grassmarket in Edinburgh and recently opened a new shop in York at number 138 Micklegate. A family run business with a great ethos and two shops which cater to both first time visitors and regulars with extensive collections of their own! Bill Baber Knitwear is a place you will hold dear to your heart. Our widest selections can be found in one of our UK stores, however we do have a select collection available online for you to enjoy. Online you will see garments that we can reproduce to order, while in store we have the boutique collections, many if which simply cannot be reproduced! Designed and made in Edinburgh, the collection is ever expanding and developing. Bill Baber Knitwear is a true boutique business and holds quality at its heart. Whether it''s the finest of silk, Merino wool and 100% Irish linen or the attention to detail given to each garment and every customer, Bill Baber Knitwear will always leave you impressed and eager to come back again. We offer a modern twist to the age old service of tailoring. Our seamstress''s are mobile so they come to you at your convenience in your home or your place of work to fit, collect and deliver your clothing at a time that suits you including evenings and weekends. Each person is unique with different body shapes, sizes and personalities, hence your clothing should be individualised to suit you. We can rejuvenate those oufits which are no longer in style and don''t fit comfortably anymore. Recover clothing which has sat at the back of your wardrobe because you you haven''t had time to either get it fixed or altered to fit. This quality service that usually takes 7 - 14 days (faster service available for urgent situations), suitable for both men, women and children. We know our clients have busy schedules so we offer our services outside normal working hours. In general we cover North Yorkshire and parts of West and East Yorkshire, ask us if we cover your area.
