The luxury boutique called ma mode was opened by the Owner Gail Martus in October 2008 at the well established retail area in the Royal Exchange Square in Glasgow. Ma mode which means "My Fashion" in French was chosen by Gail and was inspired by her experience in working in Paris and also felt that this name was perfect. The name ma mode would be unique and would compliment her international eclectic designer brands. Gail decided to open ma mode after been employed in the fashion industry for over 13 years and after managing a variety of companies prestigious such as Anne Fontaine and Joseph in Harvey Nichols. After researching various cities in the UK she chose Glasgow. Gail fell in love with the city and found it very exciting. She admired everyone for their fashion-forward attitude to fashion trends as they were not afraid to experiment with their style-which she loved!
