My name is Dr Vivien D’Arcy and I am the owner of Darcy’s Delicious Treats and I am a cake maker/designer as well as a Gluten-free food specialist.

I previously worked as a scientist in London but after being made redundant decided to set up a baking business that specialises in baking wheat-free, gluten-free and dairy-free cakes, treats and other specilised foods such as pizza bases and breads.

I understand the frustration of not being able to eat really nice cakes or foods that do not contain wheat, gluten or dairy as I have intolerances to all three!!

So I decided to set up a business in Essex that makes yummy cakes and foods for all us special people (as well as everyone else, my friends tell me they taste better than “normal” cakes!). Our products are certified Gluten-free and we only make foods that are wheat, gluten, dairy and soya free (egg free if requested).

We can also make Vegan cakes for you. Just let us know and we will be more than happy to bake them for you!

I hold a level 2 Food and Hygiene certificate and have been inspected by the Environmental Health Office from Braintree District Council, where I was awarded the maximum hygiene rating (5*).

We were finalist in the National Cupcake Competition in London on July 2nd 2012.

Recently we have be selected as a finalist in the New Company category at "The Mid Essex Business Awards" to be held in Boreham Hall, Boreham Essex on 19th October 2012.
